WHAT'S NEW?

Since we launched in April 2025 we have been listening to many people, especially our customers, who have provided input and feedback about the spring mod and our very popular GEN1 / GEN2 kits. The addition of this mini skid steer, single-stick mod kit simply addresses a segment of the market that needed just four (4) springs instead of eight (8).

With this new kit offering we remain committed to our primary design and engineering objectives...

Optimum Pre-Load - Pre-Loads engineered into the springs helps to keep the joysticks in the home position.
Piston Protection - unlike other kits in the market, we engineered into our springs a coiling feature that prevents the cut wire ends of the springs from reaching the plunger/piston surfaces. To remove all doubt, in April 2026 we added custom-fit piston protection inserts to our GEN2 kits at no additional cost.
Maximum Piston Stroke - We purposely engineered our springs for maximum resistance and the shortest possible solid heights to enable max piston stroke.
Corrosion Resistance & Long Cycle Life - Unlike other kits in the market using 302 stainless steel, Spring Pilot kits continue to use high-quality 17-7 stainless steel wire. This material delivers the best combination of corrosion resistance and tensile strength available in the market.

WHO IS SPRING PILOT?

My name is James. I work for a spring manufacturing company based in Oregon. All of our Pilot Control Spring Mod Kits were designed by our team for custom fit on my own personal AGT KU18e mini excavator. I wanted steadier resistance in the controls, improved feel, dampened bounce-back and smoother operation of hydraulic functions. We know springs and the Spring mod is all we do at Spring Pilot.

WHAT ABOUT INSTALLATION?

NO CUTTING REQUIRED. Installation is plug-and-play and requires no special tools. Loosen/lift the joystick boot, tilt the joystick all the way over, slip on the piston protection insert, snap on the spring, rinse and repeat on all four (4) pilot pistons.
